ABOUT MATT POSS BAND

Twenty years is a long time in any business, but in the music business, twenty years is a lifetime. The Matt Poss Band has packed a lifetime's worth of memories into the past two decades. Whether playing music at the countless fairs, festivals and rodeos, or at ski resorts, or at after-bar Outlaw MC barn parties, or at smoky pubs in Ireland, or riding around Afghanistan from show to show in a Chinook helicopter, it's been one heck of a ride. And if you ask him, Matt will say he feels like they are just getting started.

In February of 2003, Matt, his brothers and some musical friends went into a studio and emerged three days later with a ten track album nearly complete. Matt released his debut solo album, Fool Enough, on Memorial Day weekend of that same year. The track list was an ADHD mix of hard-country, bluegrass, country-rock and Celtic influences. That album set the tone, and Matt's fans wouldn't have it any other way.

Matt's musical odyssey has led him through nine studio albums, fourteen countries, four continents, three USO Tours, and nearly every state in the Union. MPB has toured with Blackberry Smoke, Shooter Jennings, and Jason Boland & The Stragglers, and they've shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Steve Earle, Chris Knight, Robert Earl Keen, Merle Haggard, Alison Krauss, Cody Jinks, Kid Rock, Hank Jr., Turnpike Troubadours, Toby Keith, REO Speedwagon, Ashley McBryde, Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Departed, Colt Ford, Randy Rogers Band, Sturgill Simpson, Wade Bowen, Todd Snider, Jack Ingram, Pat Green, Dale Watson, Sunny Sweeney, Whitey Morgan, Charlie Daniels, Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown Band, Jackyl, Lukas Nelson, Luke Bryan, Joe Diffie, and many more. Matt's songs have been covered by Dierks Bentley and Montgomery Gentry, and he has co-writes with Jeffrey Steele, Mac Wiseman, Kendell Marvel, Zack Linley, Jared Ketterman, and Shane McAnally.

Nowadays, Matt feels more like an elder statesman, compared to his younger contemporaries. The gray salt in his hair and beard has been earned by a million miles of highway, long gigs, late nights and early mornings. It's all just wisdom gained and a deeper well to write country songs from.

MPB consists of: Singer-songwriter Matt Poss on lead vocals and guitars. On keys, vocals, and guitar, from The Surviving Members fame, singer-songwriter Jeremy Adam. From Dr. Wu and Poprocks fame, on bass is songwriter and guitarist, Sammy Roan. And on drums, from Probably Bob fame, is Rob Rennier, who has been jamming with Matt since the beginning.

Country music isn’t dead. It’s just been hiding out in the Midwest with The Matt Poss Band.
